Brow Lift

Brow Lift

What is it?

A brow lift (eyebrow lift) is a surgical procedure aimed at raising the eyebrows and rejuvenating the upper part of the face.

As a result, you will achieve:

Correct the position of the eyebrows - raise the drooping corners that create a gloomy or tired look
Smooth out horizontal wrinkles and the frown line
Open the outer corners of the eyes, which may appear “heavy” due to drooping eyebrows.

Surgical Brow Lift Techniques

Classic (coronal) brow lift

A long incision is made in the hairline (from one ear to the other)

The forehead skin is tightened, excess tissue is removed, and the eyebrows are lifted.

Provides long-lasting and pronounced results

Used for significant age-related changes.

Endoscopic brow lift

Performed through several small incisions in the hairline

An endoscope (camera) and special instruments are used to lift the tissues

Less invasive technique with minimal scarring and short recovery.

Local (direct) brow lift

The incision is made directly above the eyebrows

Suitable for patients with severe brow drooping when other methods are ineffective

More commonly used in older people.

Transblepharoplasty method

Performed during blepharoplasty (eyelid correction)

Eyebrows are lifted through an incision on the upper eyelids

Suitable for patients with minor brow drooping.

How is brow lift preparation carried out?

Before undergoing a brow lift, you will be consulted by a surgeon and an anesthesiologist.

Laboratory and instrumental examinations will be prescribed, such as a complete blood count, coagulation tests, electrocardiography, or others as needed.

If you have any chronic diseases, it is necessary to inform your doctor.

There are a number of contraindications to brow lift surgery.

Contraindications to brow lift surgery

Chronic diseases in the stage of decompensation, e.g., cardiovascular, pulmonary system diseases

Oncological diseases

Blood diseases, especially bleeding disorders

Any acute diseases (infectious diseases, skin conditions) - the procedure should be postponed until recovery or remission

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is also recommended to postpone the procedure.

After assessing your health condition, choosing the brow lift technique, and discussing expected results - the procedure itself will take place in several stages:

01 Anesthesia

Local or general anesthesia is used depending on the technique

02 Incisions

The location and length of incisions depend on the chosen method (in the hairline, above the eyebrows, or on the eyelids).

03 Tissue lifting

The surgeon separates the skin from underlying tissues, tightens muscles and skin, and secures them in a new position.

Excess skin may be removed.

04 Closing the incisions

Incisions are closed with cosmetic stitches to minimize scarring.

How is the postoperative recovery carried out?

01 First days after surgery

Swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort may occur

Cold compresses and sleeping with the head elevated are recommended to reduce swelling.

02 First week

Stitches are usually removed after 7–10 days (if non-absorbable sutures were used)

Returning to light daily activities is possible after 5–7 days.

03 Complete recovery

Swelling completely subsides after 2–4 weeks.

Final results are visible within 1–3 months.

Brow lifting is an effective way to rejuvenate the face, giving it freshness and harmony.

The right technique and a qualified surgeon ensure long-lasting and natural results.
